Intel Invests in Canada's MediaSoft Telecom
A key driver for this initiative is MediaSoft's components-based CT development and runtime framework designed for building and running CT-Web applications. The series of components can be customized rapidly by application developers with minimal CT knowledge resulting in a standards-based application that supports the latest Internet technologies.
"This equity investment will help MediaSoft's ability to deliver the building blocks that will empower customers to build and deploy advanced CT solutions using the new voice and data convergence paradigm," said MediaSoft president, Bachir Halimi. "It will also enable MediaSoft to ramp up the development of its components-based CT framework initiative and accelerate the company's efforts in advancing the growth of standards-based computer telephony applications on the Internet."
Howard Bubb, president of Dialogic and vice president of Intel's Communications Products Group said that MediaSofts commitment to open standards will help the CT industry transition to a broader marketplace by enabling the development community to create more powerful CT solutions.
The US$200 million Intel Communications Fund is for investment in
companies supporting Intel's key programs and initiatives in voice and
data communications. The fund is managed by Intel.
